Meet your counselor

Hello, my name is Allen. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I have been a practicing counselor for several years and have been trained in EMDR since 2016. I have worked with individuals from many different countries, religious backgrounds, ages, ethnicity, and sexual orientations.

 

I was born and raised in small-town Steele, North Dakota where I graduated from high school. I obtained my Bachelors degree from Minot State University and my Master's in Counseling from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Having lived in North Dakota all of my life I have many different passions. I enjoy woodworking, landscaping, gardening, fishing and camping. When there isn't a yard project or work needing my attention, I do like to read, watch movies, and cook. I am also a huge animal lover and have two dogs.

I enjoy working with all people and there are three special groups of people that I have a special interest in helping:

My father was a Vietnam Veteran and taught me many great things in my life. His service in the military has fostered a special interest in helping members of the military who may be struggling in any way.

Many people struggle, and I provide compassionate care to individuals who have a history of domestic violence, rape, and abuse of all types.

I also work closely with individuals who identify as LGBTQ. If you are seeking an LGBTQ affirming counseling, let me be your counselor.
